7 *IMPORTANT* Things to REMEMBER
January 3 Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 7-9
7 *IMPORTANT* Things to REMEMBER
- Genesis 8:1 tells us that God remembered Noah, his family and all the animals who were held up with him in the ark. As a result, God caused a wind to pass over the earth to evaporate the waters, and the same time closed the fountains of the deep, the windows of heaven and stopped the rain (8:2). God’s purpose was to ease Noah’s situation, and allow him to get out of the ark.
- In Exodus 2:24-25, we read that God heard the groaning of the children of Israel, He remembered His covenant with Abraham; He looked upon the children of Israel and acknowledged them. God then assigned Moses with the task of liberating the children of Israel (Exodus 3).
- Another time God remembered Hannah who prayed for a child earnestly (1 Samuel 1:19b) and granted her desire.
- Our Lord Jesus remembered the thief on the cross upon his request while he was dying (Luke 23:42-43).
- God has remembered us in our lowly state (Psalms 136:23) & He alone has brought us this far in our life.
What about us? Is there anything that we need to remember this year? Yes, in fact there are 7 important things that we need to remember in 2022, based out of Psalms 27:
- Remember to have confidence in God alone (v. 1)
- Remember to live near to God’s presence (v. 4)
- Remember to lean on to God in times of trouble (v. 5)
- Remember to seek God’s face for every need (v. 8, 9)
- Remember to learn from God daily through His Word (v. 11)
- Remember to hope in the goodness of God (v. 13)
- Remember to wait on God for strength and renewal (v. 14)
When we remember to do all of these things, we can enjoy a close proximity with God each and every day in 2022 & beyond.
